New to the Work Orders module? This guided path takes you from zero to your first production run, in the order we recommend setting things up. Work through the steps in sequence.

Before you begin

  • The Work Orders module must be enabled for your tenant (a Luminous team member can turn it on).
  • Setup is done by an administrator. For the full prerequisite checklist, see Work Orders module prerequisites.

Your setup path

  1. Set up finished-good SKUs and build materials
  2. Set your manufacturing service fees
  3. Set default supply methods for components
  4. Set up supplier SKUs, costs, and MOQs
  5. Set up units of measure and conversions
  6. Set your consumption basis (Planned vs Actual)
  7. Configure your co-manufacturer and warehouse locations
  8. Run your first production run

What you'll be able to do

By the end, your data will drive automatic shortage detection, purchase-order generation, inventory commitment, and fully-loaded COGS — and you'll have completed your first run end to end.
