Post transfer orders from Shipment Planning and push inbound shipment details to your third-party logistics WMS as an ASN.

Who this is for
Logistics staff shipping finished goods from a co-manufacturer to a 3PL warehouse integrated with Luminous WMS push.
Before you begin
- Finished goods in Shipment Planning (Ship finished goods)
- Destination warehouse configured as a 3PL with WMS integration (Set up 3PL warehouses)
Steps
1. Create and post the transfer order
Follow Shipment Planning to create a transfer order with your 3PL as the Destination Warehouse, then post it.
2. Open Posted TOs
Go to Inventory → Work Orders → Shipment Planning → Posted TOs.
3. Push to WMS
For a single TO, use the row action Push to WMS.
For multiple TOs, select rows and click Push All to WMS.
Confirm when prompted. Luminous sends transfer order details to your 3PL as an inbound shipment (ASN).
4. Bulk post with auto-push (optional)
When bulk-posting from the Mark as Posted flow, if the destination is a 3PL warehouse, you may see an Auto-push to WMS checkbox (checked by default). This posts and pushes in one step.
5. Verify WMS status
On the Posted TOs grid, a status indicator shows whether the TO was pushed. Tooltips explain:
- Push to WMS — Available for 3PL warehouses not yet pushed
- Already pushed to WMS — Inbound shipment created at 3PL
6. Ship the sales order
After WMS push, use Ship All SOs (or ship the linked sales order individually) to deplete inventory from the co-man location when goods physically leave.
What happens next
- Your 3PL receives inbound shipment details for receiving against
- Inventory depletes from origin when the sales order ships
- Track receipt at the 3PL through normal receiving workflows
Co-manufacturer workflow callout
For co-man → 3PL flows (e.g., manufacturer to Ohio 3PL), the sequence is: Create draft TO → Post → Push to WMS → Ship SO. The 3PL receives against the ASN when physical goods arrive.
