Receive multiple purchase orders at once from a work order or production run sidebar to clear raw material shortages before starting production.
Collection: Work Orders: Getting Started
Priority: P0
Who this is for
Receiving and warehouse staff bringing raw materials into inventory for an active production run.
Before you begin
- Purchase orders linked to the work order (Generate purchase orders)
- Work order in Draft or Planned (receive before moving to In Progress)
- Lot numbers prepared for lot-tracked materials
Steps
1. Open the work order or production run
Navigate to the work order detail page, or open a production run and select a work order from the sidebar.
2. Go to Purchase Orders in the sidebar
The right sidebar lists Purchase Orders linked to this work order.
3. Select POs to receive
Check the boxes next to one or more purchase orders. The Bulk Receive (N) button appears when at least one PO is selected.
4. Click Bulk Receive
Click Bulk Receive (N) where N is the number of selected POs.
5. Enter receive quantities and lots
In the receive flow:
- Confirm quantities for each PO line
- For lot-tracked materials, select an existing lot or create a new lot number
- Submit when all lines are complete
6. Verify shortages cleared
Return to the production run Shared Components table or work order Bill of Materials:
- Red shortage highlights should disappear for received materials
- On Hand increases; Inc. Allocated may convert to committed stock
7. Move to In Progress
Once all required materials are received, move the work order to In Progress (Status workflow).
What happens next
- Inventory is updated at the receiving location.
- Incoming allocations from those POs convert to on-hand/committed stock for the work order.
- You can begin production with Quick Complete (next step).
Co-manufacturer workflow callout
Receive all raw materials for the run before starting production. If you use blanket POs, ensure allocations were set before receive so the correct work order gets credit for incoming stock.
Ideal lot numbers should be created in advance — at receive time you typically select existing lots rather than creating them on the fly.
