Luminous moves product and stock data in two directions between your channel and Shopify. You can do each by hand from the channel's Product Mapping page, and Luminous also runs both on a schedule.

Where to find the actions

  1. Go to Manage → Channels and open your Shopify channel. The Product Mapping tab opens by default.
  2. Click Actions at the top right.

What the menu shows depends on whether you have selected rows in the grid:

SelectionActions you see
No rows selectedImport Products, Add product mapping, Push All Product Stocks, Pull Products, Export Products
One or more rows selectedImport Products, Add product mapping, Push Products (N), where N is the number of selected rows

To reach Pull Products, Push All Product Stocks or Export Products, clear any row selection first.

Pull Products (Shopify → Luminous)

Pull Products fetches your product catalog from Shopify into Luminous. It also refreshes each product's Shopify publish status (active or draft).

  1. Open Actions → Pull Products.
  2. Luminous shows "Sync in progress - this may take a while. Please refresh the page after a few minutes."
  3. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the page to see new or updated products.

The pull runs in the background. By default it brings in only active products. Inactive or deleted products are included only if that option is turned on in the integration account settings.

If you add a mapping by hand with Add product mapping, run Pull Products first. For integrations that use Pull Products, the channel SKU must already exist in Luminous.

Is there a schedule or frequency setting for Pull Products?

No. There’s no per-channel setting for Pull Products. Luminous pulls products automatically about every 4 hours for every integration account that supports it. Use Actions → Pull Products when you need an update sooner, for example right after changing a product from Draft to Active in Shopify.

Pushing stock to Shopify (Luminous → Shopify)

Push all stock

With no rows selected, choose Actions → Push All Product Stocks. Luminous shows the result message when the push finishes.

Push selected products, including a single product

  1. In the grid, select one or more product rows.
  2. Choose Actions → Push Products (N).
  3. Luminous reports the outcome, for example "Push stock result: 1 pushed, 2 already in sync." The message can also list products that were queued, not asserted, or failed. It names the problem if something failed.

Single-product pushes to Shopify need an inventory location. If you select exactly one product, Luminous checks that an inventory location is set. It looks first at the product's own override, then at the product's location, then at the channel's push-stock mapping. If none is set, you will see: "Set an inventory location to successfully push stock for this product." Set a location and try again.

Automatic stock pushes

  • By default, stock for channels with Push Stock enabled is pushed about every 4 hours.
  • You can set your own schedule on the channel. To set your own schedule:
    1. Go to Manage → Channels, open the channel and click Edit.In Push Inventory Stocks and Costs, turn on Push Stock to Integration and select a Push To Integration Account. The schedule option appears only after both are set.
    2. Turn on Enable Scheduled Push Stock.
    3. Choose a Mode:
    • Daily: pick Set Times and click Add Time for each run (24-hour HH:MM), or pick Spread.
    • Hourly.
    1. Check the Next runs (UTC) preview, then click Save.
  • A channel with its own schedule enabled is skipped by the default 4-hour push.
  • See Setting the Stock Push Schedule for Shopify.

Why a product might not push

Products whose Shopify status is Draft are skipped on every stock push. See Does a Shopify product's 'draft' status block the Luminous stock push…. To fix this, set the product to Active in Shopify, then run Pull Products.
