Overview
When Luminous syncs your Shopify product catalog it reads each product's publish status — active or draft — directly from Shopify and stores it on the corresponding channel product mapping record. That stored status is then used as a gate on every stock push cycle. Understanding this gate is important if you notice a mapped product whose inventory is never being sent to Shopify.

How the publish status reaches your mapping
When Luminous runs a Product Sync for a Shopify channel (triggered manually or on a schedule from the channel's Product Mapping tab), it fetches every product from Shopify and records Shopify's own publish status — active or draft — on the matching mapping row in Luminous. The mapping inherits whatever status Shopify reports at the time of the sync.
Does a 'draft' status block the stock push?
Yes — completely. Luminous only pushes inventory for mapping rows whose recorded status is active. Any mapping whose status is draft (because the corresponding Shopify product is still in draft) is skipped entirely during every stock push cycle — scheduled or manual.
In addition to publish status, a mapping must also meet two other conditions to be eligible for a push:
- It must be linked to a Luminous SKU (or kit).
- It must have an inventory location assigned.
All three conditions must be satisfied simultaneously. A draft mapping fails the first test and is excluded regardless of the other two.
Does re-linking the mapping to a new Luminous SKU clear the block?
No. When you use the Product Mapping page to reassign a mapping row to a different Luminous SKU, only the SKU link is updated. The publish status recorded on the mapping is not changed. After the re-link the mapping still carries its draft status, and future stock push cycles will continue to skip it.
How to unblock a draft mapping
The publish status on a mapping is only refreshed during a Shopify product sync. To restore pushes for a product that is currently blocked by draft status:
- In Shopify, open the product and change its status from Draft to Active.
- In Luminous, go to Manage → Channels → [your channel] → Product Mapping.
- Click Actions → Pull Products to pull the updated status from Shopify.
- Once the sync completes, the mapping row's status will update to
activeand it will be included in the next stock push cycle.
If you need to verify the current recorded status for any mapping, look at the Product Status column in the Product Mapping grid. By default the grid is filtered to show only Active mappings; switch the status filter to see draft or inactive rows.
