What changed
Two display issues on the Purchase Orders screens have been resolved. This article explains what each fix means for your day-to-day work.
Fix 1 — Unit Cost and Line Total columns in the cross-PO Line Items tab
What was happening
The Unit Cost and Line Total columns in Purchase Orders → Line Items (the cross-PO grid) were invisible to everyone — even users whose accounts were fully entitled to see cost figures. An incorrect permission key in the tab caused the columns to be treated as hidden regardless of your role.
What works now
| What you can do | Permission required |
|---|---|
| See Unit Cost and Line Total columns | Cost-viewing permission (same permission that controls cost visibility elsewhere in Luminous) |
| Edit Unit Cost inline in the grid | Cost-editing permission (a separate, higher right) |
Currency symbols are now per-row. When your Line Items view spans POs in different currencies, each row shows the currency symbol that belongs to its own PO — not a single symbol stamped across all rows.
Excel exports include the columns. If you export the Line Items tab to Excel, Unit Cost and Line Total are included for users who hold the cost-viewing permission, just like every other permission-gated column. Users who do not hold that permission will not see empty cost columns — they are simply omitted from the file.
What to do if you still cannot see the columns
- Go to Inventory → Purchase Orders and click the Line Items tab.
- Open the Columns panel (the vertical Columns tab on the right edge of the grid) and confirm Unit Cost and Line Total are not hidden there.
- If the columns do not appear in the panel at all, your account may not have the cost-viewing permission. Contact your Luminous administrator to check your role settings.

Fix 2 — Shipping-cost amount next to the truck icon on the PO list
What was happening
The amount shown next to the truck (shipping-fast) icon in the Total Cost column of the PO list was reading only from a legacy shipping-cost field. Extra costs you add to a PO — such as freight estimates, duties, tariffs, drayage, and similar charges — were not reflected there at all, so the figure was often incomplete.
Worse, on POs that had both extra costs and a legacy shipping-cost entry, the two figures were separate sources rather than one combined amount, but users had no way to tell which source the icon was using.
What the icon shows now
The icon now works on a clear priority:
- If the PO has any extra-cost entries (freight, duty, drayage, tariffs, etc.), the icon shows the sum of all those extra costs.
- If there are no extra costs, the icon falls back to the legacy shipping-cost field.
- If neither source has an amount, the icon is hidden entirely.
This prevents double-counting on POs that carry both types of cost entries, and ensures that POs built entirely on the modern extra-costs workflow show the correct total at a glance.
Practical impact
- If your PO has extra costs: the truck icon now reflects the full freight-and-duties picture you entered as extra cost lines.
- If your PO uses only the older shipping-cost field: the icon continues to show that amount as before.
- If your PO has both: the icon shows the extra-costs total and ignores the legacy field — no double-counting.
