When to leave Auto Complete AO unchecked during Quick Complete — especially for lot-tracked finished goods.
Collection: Work Orders: FAQ & Troubleshooting
Priority: P0
Short answer
Leave Auto Complete AO unchecked (the default) when finished goods require lot numbers or yield adjustments before completion.
What Auto Complete AO does
When checked, Quick Complete will automatically complete assembly orders after creating them — consuming components and producing finished goods without manual review.
When unchecked (default), Quick Complete creates draft assembly orders that you finish manually.
When to leave it unchecked (recommended for most co-man workflows)
- Lot-tracked finished goods — You must add lot numbers on the assembly order before completing
- Yield variance — Actual output differs from planned; edit Actual Quantity before completing
- Consumption basis review — Verify Planned vs Actual basis per component line
This matches the typical co-man flow: Quick Complete creates AOs → ops adds lots and yield → manually complete AOs.
When you might check it
- Finished goods are not lot-tracked
- No yield adjustment needed
- You trust fully automated completion for high-volume, standardized batches
Even then, test in sandbox before enabling in production.
