Work order service fees and raw material costs combine into finished goods unit cost when assembly orders complete.
Collection: Work Orders: FAQ & Troubleshooting
Priority: P1
Short answer
When an assembly order completes, the finished goods unit cost includes:
- Manufacturing service fee — Per-unit fee from the work order (often auto-resolved from cost rules)
- Raw material costs — Cost of components consumed (based on received/inventory costs)
Service fee on work order
Set on work order create/edit as Service Fee (per unit). Cost rules can auto-populate based on co-manufacturer, SKU, and quantity tier (Set up cost rules).
The By Product view on production run create shows the fee and cost rule tier per SKU.
At assembly completion
The assembly order displays manufacturing service fee per unit in its cost breakdown. Combined with depleted component costs, this becomes the manufactured cost of finished goods.
