Short answer: use trackstar_cart, not trackstar
Luminous has two distinct TrackStar account types. Choosing the wrong one is the most common setup mistake:
| Account type | What it connects to | Right for FBM? |
|---|---|---|
| trackstar | TrackStar's WMS / 3PL warehouse API (FBA stock, inbound shipments, 3PL fulfillment) | ❌ No |
| trackstar_cart | TrackStar's Cart API — Amazon Seller Central orders via TrackStar's Cart Connect | ✅ Yes |
In the app, a trackstar account shows a Connect WMS button; a trackstar_cart connection (Amazon → Seller Central) shows an Authorize Amazon button. If you see Connect WMS, you have the wrong type for FBM.
Prerequisites
- You have an active TrackStar account with Cart Connect enabled.
- You have an existing FBM channel in Luminous (Manage → Channels) that pulls Amazon FBM orders in and pushes inventory out. If you don't have a channel yet, create one first — see How do sales channels work in Luminous, and how do I set up and configure a new channel integration?.
Step 1 — Create a trackstar_cart App Integration Account
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click Add Integration (top-right).
- Choose Amazon, then Seller Central — Amazon as a sales channel (the TrackStar Cart /
trackstar_cartconnection). - Give the account a clear label (e.g. Amazon FBM or TrackStar Cart).
- Click Show 6 settings you can adjust after connecting and turn on Get Products — this allows Luminous to import your Amazon product listings so you can map them to Luminous SKUs.
- Set Inventory Quantity Type to the stock figure TrackStar should receive (typically Available).
- (Optional) Set SKU Field Mapping — choose whether Luminous should match products by
product_skuorproduct_idwhen reading order lines from TrackStar. - (Optional) Set Minimum Order Age (in minutes) if you want a buffer before new orders are pulled.
- Click Authorize Amazon. This launches TrackStar's Cart Connect widget to authenticate with Amazon Seller Central. Complete the on-screen steps.
- Once authentication succeeds, save the account.
Fulfillment Cutover Date — if you are switching from an old integration and only want Luminous to generate fulfillment orders for new orders, fill in this ISO-format date. Orders placed before that date will be skipped for auto-generation on this account.
Step 2 — Map your SKUs
Before orders can post, every Amazon FBM listing must be linked to a Luminous SKU.
- Open the integration account you just created and click Manage Products.
- Open the Actions menu and click Auto-Map Product SKUs. Luminous compares Amazon listing identifiers to your Luminous SKU catalog and maps matches automatically.
- Review the results. Any listings that didn't automap must be linked manually — click the row and select the correct Luminous SKU.
- Confirm that no SKUs remain unmapped before going live. An unmapped SKU will cause orders containing that item to land in purgatory instead of posting.
Step 3 — Update your FBM channel
Now point the channel to the new integration account.
- Go to Manage → Channels and open your FBM channel.
- Order Source section — find the Pull Orders From dropdown and change it to your new
trackstar_cartaccount. This controls where Luminous pulls incoming FBM orders from. - Push Inventory Stocks and Costs section — under Push To Integration Account, change the selection to the same
trackstar_cartaccount. This controls where Luminous sends your available stock quantities so your Amazon FBM listings stay up to date. - In the same section, confirm the Warehouse Group is set to the warehouse where your FBM inventory lives.
- Click Save.
Step 4 — Verify the setup
- Go back to Settings → Integrations and confirm the new account shows a SUCCESS status on both Get Products and Push Stock.
- Trigger a manual stock push from the channel and confirm that inventory quantities update on your Amazon FBM listings.
- Monitor the next incoming order cycle to confirm orders are landing in Luminous and posting correctly (not sitting in purgatory).
Migrating from an old ecart-based FBM account?
If you previously ran FBM through an ecart integration account, follow the dedicated migration guide: FBM Migration SOP: ecart → trackstar_cart. It covers disabling the old account safely once the new one is confirmed working.
FAQ
Can I use one trackstar_cart account for multiple Amazon marketplaces? Each TrackStar Cart Connect connection represents one Amazon Seller Central account. If you sell on multiple marketplaces under one Seller Central account, a single trackstar_cart integration account covers them. If they are separate Seller Central accounts, create a separate trackstar_cart account for each.
What happens if I accidentally use trackstar instead of trackstar_cart? A trackstar account connects to TrackStar's WMS API, which does not have access to Amazon FBM cart orders. Orders will not pull in, and stock pushes will go to the wrong endpoint. Create a new trackstar_cart account and update the channel to point to it.
My SKUs didn't automap — what should I check? Automap compares the TrackStar listing's identifier (controlled by the SKU Field Mapping setting — product_sku or product_id) against your Luminous SKU values. If listings use a different identifier format, switch the SKU Field Mapping setting on the integration account and re-run automap, then manually fix any remaining gaps.
