Lot pre-fill in the receiving form
When you open a receiving report for a purchase order, Luminous checks whether each line already has a lot assigned. If it does, that lot is loaded into the Lot field on the corresponding receiving row automatically.
Where the lot comes from
The lot on a PO line is set from the Line Items grid on the purchase order — either by a team member in the office (see How do I assign a lot number to a purchase order line item?) or by an automated process through the External API before goods arrive.
It is a default, not a lock
The pre-filled lot is fully editable on the receiving form:
- To accept it — leave the field as-is and proceed with the receipt.
- To change it — click the Lot field, clear the current value, and select or create a different lot from the dropdown.
- To leave it blank — clear the field. If the SKU requires lot tracking, a missing lot will flag the row in the Receiving Preview panel before you submit.
Rows that stay blank
If no lot has been assigned to the PO line yet, the Lot field opens empty — the same behaviour as before. You can assign a lot during receiving, or go back to the PO line and set one there first.
Receiving Preview attention summary
The Receiving Preview panel on the right side of the form shows a count of rows that need attention before the receipt can be saved. Rows for lot-tracked SKUs that have no lot set are included in that count under Lot required. Clicking the summary jumps to the first affected row.
