What happens when you change a channel's warehouse group

When you reassign a Warehouse Group on a sales channel (under Manage → Channels → [your channel] → Edit), Luminous needs to recalculate and re-push stock quantities for every product on that channel, because the inventory available from the new warehouse group may differ from what the channel was last sent.

After this fix, that re-push happens automatically. The next scheduled stock push cycle detects that the channel configuration changed after the last push timestamp, and re-includes affected products in the candidate set — even if those products have no recent stock movement in the new warehouse group.

What to expect after reassigning a warehouse group

SituationWhat Luminous does
Product was never pushed to this channelIncluded in the next push cycle; the channel receives an authoritative quantity for the first time
Product was last pushed before the warehouse group changeIncluded in the next push cycle; channel receives a quantity calculated from the new warehouse group
Product was last pushed after the warehouse group changeNormal activity-based scheduling resumes; no special handling needed

How long does the re-sync window last?

The system evaluates products whose last push pre-dates the channel configuration change for up to 7 days after the change. Within that window:

  • Each product gets at most one re-push per cycle (push only fires if the calculated quantity actually differs from what was last sent — redundant pushes are still skipped).
  • Once a successful push lands, that product's timestamp advances and it falls back into normal scheduling.
  • A product whose quantity is genuinely unchanged may not fire a push, which is expected — the channel already holds the correct value.

How to verify the re-sync is complete

  1. Go to Manage → Channels → Product Mapping (button at the top right of the Channels page), and filter to your channel.
  2. Review the Last Pushed column. After the next scheduled push cycle runs, products should show a fresh timestamp and a Push Success remark.
  3. Use the Last Pushed → NOT PUSHED filter to spot any products that still have not received a push after the change.
  4. Compare Stock Lvl [Pulled] against Qty Available for any product where the gap looks unexpectedly large — a large difference after a warehouse group change suggests the re-push for that product has not yet completed.

If products still appear stale after several push cycles

  • Confirm the channel is Active and that Push Stock to Integration is toggled on.
  • Check that the new warehouse group contains the warehouses where your stock physically lives.
  • Use the manual Push Stock action on a specific product mapping row to force an immediate push outside the schedule — this is not affected by the activity filter and will always dispatch.
  • Contact support if a significant number of products remain stale more than 24 hours after the warehouse group change.
