Row highlight colors in the Shared Components table
The Shared Components section on a Production Run detail page uses background colors to surface two key signals at a glance. A color legend is displayed in the top-right corner of the section header.
| Color | What it means |
|---|---|
| Light blue background | A Purchase Order already exists for this material (status: pending delivery or already received). |
| Light red background | This material has a shortage — on-hand stock plus allocated incoming is not enough to cover the requirement. |
| Light red background + blue left border | Both conditions apply: there is a shortage and a PO already exists for this material. The shortage signal takes visual priority, but the blue stripe flags that ordering is already underway. |
| No highlight | No shortage and no linked PO. |
How the "Has PO" (blue) highlight is determined
A row turns blue when at least one Purchase Order linked to the production run contains a line for that material's SKU. The PO does not need to be fully received — a pending PO also triggers the highlight.
Why this matters for procurement workflow
When reviewing materials before generating purchase orders:
- Blue rows — a PO is already in flight. Check the PO Status column and the run's sidebar PO list before creating another PO for the same material.
- Red rows without blue — these materials still need a PO or have no incoming stock allocated. Use Generate Purchase Orders or Allocate from Incoming to cover the gap.
- Red + blue border — ordering is underway but the quantity on the existing PO may not cover the full shortage. Review the incoming quantity versus the shortage figure.
