Row colors in the Shared Components table
The Shared Components section on a Production Run detail page uses row background colors to show material procurement status at a glance. A legend at the top-left of the section shows a swatch for each color.
| Row appearance | What it means |
|---|---|
| White / no highlight | No shortage and no purchase order linked yet. The material is covered by on-hand stock or has no procurement action yet. |
| Light blue background | A purchase order is already linked to this row (status is PO Pending or PO Received). No further buying action is needed for this material. |
| Light red background | The material has a shortage — required quantity exceeds what is available (on-hand minus committed, plus any allocated incoming). |
| Light red background + blue left border | The row has both a shortage and a linked purchase order. The PO exists but may not fully cover the gap, or stock has not yet been received. |
PO Status column
The PO Status column in the same table shows a text label for each row:
- No PO — no purchase order is linked to this material line yet.
- PO Pending — a PO is linked and the material is on order but not yet fully received.
- PO Received — the linked PO has been fully received.
Typical workflow
- Open Inventory → Work Orders → Production Runs and select your run.
- Scroll to the Shared Components section.
- Check red rows — these materials have a shortage.
- If the red row also has a blue left border, a PO already exists. Verify the PO quantity covers the shortage, or receive the stock if it has arrived.
- If the red row has no blue border and shows No PO, use Generate Purchase Orders or Allocate from Incoming (in the row's ⋮ menu) to address the gap.
- Blue rows with no red background can be ignored — procurement is already underway.
