Date period presets in Stock Snapshot and accounting drill-downs

The Stock Snapshot, Adjustment Drill-down, and Receiving Drill-down pages each have a small toggle bar — This month and Last month — sitting next to their date-range inputs.

How to use it

  1. Open any of the three pages (Insights › Stock Snapshot, or Insights › Accounting › Drill Down › Adjustment / Receiving).
  2. In the filter bar, click This month or Last month.
  3. Both the start and end date fields (and their time fields on Stock Snapshot) update automatically. The report or grid refreshes with the new range.
  4. If you then edit a date or time field by hand, every preset button de-highlights and a Custom label appears — this is just an indicator, not a button. You are not locked out of manual entry.

What the presets resolve to

PresetStartEnd
This monthFirst day of the current calendar month, 00:00Today, end of day (23:59)
Last monthFirst day of the previous month, 00:00Last day of the previous month, end of day

Periods are calendar months, not fiscal months. The end of This month is always today — not the last day of the month — so the report never shows inventory figures for dates that have not happened yet.

Why are there no quarter presets?

Quarter-length queries on the legacy Stock Snapshot page consistently exceed the report's 45-second timeout on large catalogs, so This quarter and Last quarter are intentionally not offered on these pages. If you need quarterly data, export by running two or three monthly ranges and combining them in Excel.

Tips

  • Exports follow the preset. If you run an Export to Excel or a background Download Center export after picking a preset, the export covers exactly the same date window shown in the grid.
  • Drill-down dialogs inherit the range. When you click a cell in Stock Snapshot to open a breakdown dialog, the dialog queries the same start/end dates you set with the preset — so the drill-down numbers reconcile with the row you clicked.
  • Bookmarks and shared URLs still work. If you share a URL that has specific dates in it, the selector simply shows "Custom" — your manual dates are preserved as-is.
