Overview
When Luminous pulls inbound shipments from an externally-managed warehouse (for example, Walmart WFS via TrackStar), every shipment the WMS reports is recorded as an inbound receipt by default — including fulfillment-center-to-fulfillment-center transfers that should never touch Luminous inventory.
The Filter Inbound Shipments setting on a warehouse group lets you define conditions that cause matching shipments to be silently skipped during the pull, before they are saved as receipts.
Who this is for
Operators running WFS, TrackStar, or any other externally-managed warehouse group that has Pull Shipments enabled and that receives provider-internal transfer movements they don't want imported into Luminous.
Note: The backend filtering is enabled per tenant. If you configure the filter but shipments still appear, contact Luminous support to have the feature activated for your account.
How to configure the exclude filter
- Go to Manage → Locations → Warehouse Groups.
- On the warehouse group that is receiving the unwanted inbound receipts, click the ⋯ menu at the end of its row and choose Edit to open the Update Warehouse Group popup.
- Scroll to the Pull Shipments toggle. (This toggle, and the filter section beneath it, only appear when the warehouse group's App Integration Account supports pulling inbound shipments — TrackStar-style WMS integrations, not standard storefront/EDI connections.) The filter section appears beneath Pull Shipments only once it's turned on.
- Under Filter Inbound Shipments, click Add Filter.
- For each condition row, choose:
- Field — one of: Shipment ID, PO Number, Supplier, or Status
- Operator — Equal to, Not equal to, Starts with, Ends with, Contains, or Not contains
- Value — the text to match against
- Use the Match dropdown to choose whether a shipment must satisfy any condition (Match ANY, OR) or all conditions (Match ALL, AND) to be excluded.
- Click Submit to save.
From that point on, every scheduled pull will evaluate each fetched shipment against your conditions and drop matching ones before recording any receipts.
Example: exclude Walmart WFS FC-to-FC moves
Walmart WFS labels its internal transfers so they are distinguishable by Shipment ID suffix or PO Number prefix. A typical configuration:
| Field | Operator | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Shipment ID | ends with | WFA |
| PO Number | starts with | WMS- |
Set Match to ANY so a shipment is excluded if either pattern matches.
Removing or updating the filter
Reopen the warehouse group popup, edit or delete condition rows, and click Submit. To disable filtering entirely, delete all condition rows and submit — no conditions means no filtering.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Filter is saved but transfers still appear | Confirm with Luminous support that the feature flag is enabled for your tenant |
| Too many shipments being dropped | Review your conditions — a broad contains rule can match unintended shipments; prefer starts with or ends with |
| Filter section is not visible | Ensure Pull Shipments is toggled on for the warehouse group |
