Work Order & Production Run Form Templates
Form templates let you save a configured Work Order or Production Run form and reload it instantly the next time you need the same setup. This eliminates repetitive data entry for recurring production workflows.
What a template saves
When you save a template, Luminous captures:
- Header data — vendor (co-manufacturer), source and destination warehouses, completion trigger, and notes
- Items — all SKU lines with quantities and BOM selections
- Custom fields — any custom field values you have filled in
- Extra costs — any additional cost lines configured on the form
Saving a template
- Fill in the fields you want to reuse.
- Click the arrow on the Save button (Create Run on Production Runs) and choose Save as New Template.
- In Save as Template, enter a Template Name and click Save Template. If the name already exists, you'll see a warning and the button changes to Save & Overwrite.
Loading a template
- Open a new Work Order or Production Run form.
- Choose a template from the Load from template dropdown at the top of the form. Pick No template to clear it.
- The form fields populate with the saved values. You can adjust any field before saving the record.
Managing templates
- Overwrite — save again with the same name to update the template with the current form state.
- Delete — To delete, open the template dropdown and click the trash icon next to the name, then confirm Delete.
Notes
- Templates are scoped by form type: Work Order templates only appear on Work Order forms, and Production Run templates only appear on Production Run forms.
- Template names are case-insensitive — "Weekly Run" and "weekly run" are treated as the same template.
- Deleting a template does not affect any existing Work Orders or Production Runs that were created from it.
