Open the coverage panel on Sales Orders › Backorders (click a line's status, or use View coverage).
Release what stock covers
- Click Release what’s in stock.
- The dialog confirms the full scope, for example “Release 253 units from stock to 8 lines on 7 orders?”. It releases every line of that SKU that stock covers, oldest order first, not just the line you opened. Click Release.
- Orders that can’t take a partial release are skipped, and the results say why.
Pick bins: where pick bins gate stock, the release never frees more than the pick bins hold. It doesn't go oldest first there, and the panel says so.
Create POs for the shortfall
Click Create drop-ship PO for shortfall. It makes one drop-ship PO per order, with the short quantity pre-filled on each line. A PO for the whole shortfall that restocks your own warehouse isn't available yet, and the panel notes that.
Pricing: if the supplier has no SKU cost, the line is priced from the product's base cost per purchase unit (for example per case).
The grid and panel refresh after either action.
