When to use this
Use this setting if one Shopify store ships from more than one location, and each location should reserve and deduct inventory from a different Luminous warehouse. You don't need Luminous order routing for this. Shopify decides the split, and Luminous follows it.
What it does
- The order still comes into Luminous as one sales order.
- Luminous reads the fulfillment orders Shopify has created for that order. Each Shopify fulfillment order becomes its own Luminous fulfillment order.
- Each Luminous fulfillment order goes to the warehouse group mapped to that Shopify location. Reserved and deducted inventory comes from that warehouse group.
- If the setting is off, inventory keeps reserving against the sales order's channel warehouse, as before.
Set it up
- Go to Manage > Channels, open each channel linked to this Shopify account, and click Edit.
- Under Filter Incoming Orders, click Add Filter. Enter assigned_location_id as the Property, choose EQUALS, and enter the Shopify location ID as the Value. Make sure the channel’s warehouse group is the one that location should deduct from. Save the channel.
- Repeat for every Shopify location you ship from.
- Go to Settings / Integrations and click the pencil icon on your Shopify account.
- Check Create fulfillment orders from Shopify fulfillment locations and save.
- Turning it on backfills this account’s open orders only. Closed and shipped orders are not changed.
Things to know
- Only Shopify accounts can turn this on. Other integrations reject it.
- A Shopify fulfillment order whose location has no assigned-location filter on the account is skipped, so it gets no fulfillment order. Map every location you ship from.
- Lines that can't be matched to a sales order line, or that have zero quantity, are left out.
- If you split orders in Shopify differently over time, Luminous matches each Shopify fulfillment order to the existing Luminous one by warehouse group and overlapping lines.
