You can fix a completed assembly order (or disassembly order) in Luminous. Which option to use depends on whether you want a quiet correction or an audit trail.

Before you start

  • You need the correct completed assembly orders permission. It is given to admin-tier roles by default. Ask an admin to grant it to other roles.
  • The order status must be Completed.

Option 1: Correct quantities (fix in place)

Use this when the order is right apart from the produced or component quantities.

  1. Go to Inventory > Assembly Orders, open the Closed Orders tab, and open the order.
  2. Click Correct quantities at the top of the page.
  3. In the New column, enter the corrected quantities for the produced item and each consumed component. Planned quantities are not changed.
  4. Under Today's on-hand, choose one:
    • Move today's on-hand by the difference. On-hand changes by the correction amount.
    • Keep today's on-hand — post a balancing adjustment. Use this if today's count is already right and only the history is wrong. Luminous posts a balancing adjustment and shows its number in the confirmation.
  5. Enter a Reason (required).
  6. Click Preview to review the change, then Confirm.

The posted quantities are rewritten on the order. Cost figures in Luminous Core update on its next full rebuild.

Option 2: Rollback assembly (void and recreate)

Use this when you want a visible record that the order was voided.

  1. Go to Inventory > Assembly Orders and open the Closed Orders tab.
  2. On the order's row, open the ⋮ menu and choose Rollback assembly.
  3. Luminous checks first whether the order can be rolled back. If it can't, you will see the reason.
  4. Read the effects in the dialog. Finished goods are deducted from on-hand, components are restored, cost layer adjustments are reversed, and the order is marked as rolled back.
  5. Enter the Reason (required).
  6. If the order is linked to a work order, you can tick Recommit raw materials to linked Work Order to re-reserve the components.
  7. Tick Create new order from this one to open the create form with the same product and quantities pre-filled, so you can enter the correct numbers.
  8. Click Rollback Order.

Tips

  • If you don't see either action, check your permission and that the order is Completed.
  • Check your accounting period before changing old orders.
