Symptom
Printing a label on a ParcelPerform carrier account fails with a message like "carrier_reference: Value provided does not exist in the system". Luminous may also report that ParcelPerform has no carrier configured for the reference.
Cause
The carrier reference saved on the carrier account is not configured in that ParcelPerform account. This often happens when a value from the sandbox is used in production. If no reference is picked in Shipment options when printing, the account's saved value is sent.
Fix
- Go to Manage > Carrier Accounts and open the ParcelPerform account.
- Click Test credentials. If the saved reference is not configured on the account, the message says so and names the reference.
- Fix the reference in one of two ways:
- Type a valid carrier reference into the field and save. Use one that is configured as outbound in the ParcelPerform portal.
- Remove it. Tick Clear saved value under the carrier reference field and save. The field will show "Saved value will be removed on save". Then pick a reference per shipment in Shipment options when you print.
- Print the label again.
Notes
- Leaving a credential field blank without ticking the box keeps the stored value.
- ParcelPerform configures each reference for either outbound or return. If a reference is refused or produces a return label, set an outbound one in the ParcelPerform portal.
- If ParcelPerform has no carrier configured for the reference, add it in the ParcelPerform portal before printing.
