Export a production run to CSV or Excel
Luminous can export any production run as a flat CSV or a multi-sheet Excel workbook. Use this when you need to analyse run data in a spreadsheet, feed it into an ERP, or stack several runs' data into one table.
Steps
- Go to Inventory → Work Orders → Production Runs and click a run's Run # to open it.
- Click the Export button at the top of the Details panel on the right.
- Choose Export to CSV or Export to Excel from the dropdown.
- The file downloads immediately.
What's in the file
Every file organises data into up to four row types (called "grains"):
| Row type | What it represents |
|---|---|
| RUN | One row for the production run itself — totals, vendor, warehouses, notes |
| WORK_ORDER | One row per work order — SKUs, quantities, service pricing, its own vendor/warehouses |
| EXTRA_COST | One row per extra charge included in the run total |
| BOM_COMPONENT | One row per component SKU across the consolidated BOM |
CSV — all grains appear in one flat table with a leading Row Type column so you can filter by grain in Excel.
Excel — each grain gets its own worksheet tab.
Identity columns are always present
The Run # column appears on every row. Each grain also always carries its own key (work order number, extra cost name, or component SKU). These columns cannot be removed by a template, so joins and lookups always work.
Work order vendor and warehouses
If a work order's vendor or warehouse differs from the run's, the work order rows show the work order's own values in dedicated columns ("WO Vendor", "WO Production Warehouse", "WO Destination Warehouse"). Run-level and work-order-level values are kept separate.
Stacking multiple runs
Because every row carries the run number as a join key, you can concatenate exports from several runs into one table and still tell rows apart.
Customising the export
Admins can create a Production Run Data template in Manage → Templates to control which columns appear, which sections are included (Extra Costs, Consolidated BOM), and whether custom fields are appended. See How do I configure the Production Run Data export template?
