Opening the support schedule
In the general ledger ledger view, click any journal line to open its support schedule drawer. The drawer lists every source document — bills, bill payments, vendor credits, prepayment applications, and others — whose amount contributed to that line when the period was compiled.
Each row shows:
- Reference and counterparty (frozen at the time of posting, so they do not change if the document is later edited)
- Source date and booked amount
- A link to the originating document where one is available
- A changed since booked indicator when the document was modified after it was recorded into the GL — useful for spotting late edits before the close
Reading the tie-out footer
At the bottom of the drawer, the tie-out section shows three figures:
- Schedule total — the sum of all support rows for this line (always the unfiltered total, regardless of any filter you have applied)
- Line amount — the debit or credit the line posted to the account
- Difference — the exact gap between them
When the schedule total equals the line amount, the tie-out shows as balanced. A non-zero difference is a genuine finding, not a rounding artefact.
Filtering and subtotalling
Use the counterparty or source type filter to narrow the rows on screen. The tie-out footer always shows the unfiltered schedule total so filtering cannot manufacture a false pass or fail. When a filter is active, a filtered subtotal appears alongside the full total so you can see both simultaneously.
Enable subtotals by counterparty or by source type to get a grouped breakdown — useful for reconciling a payables balance to a single vendor without leaving the drawer.
Viewing the full journal entry
Click the entry reference to open the entry drawer, which shows both sides of the double-entry (all debit and credit lines), the posting rule and its version, the period, and a balance check confirming that debits equal credits exactly.
Note: The GL ledger and schedule drill-down are available only on accounts where the general ledger feature has been enabled. Contact your Luminous account team if you do not see this option.
