Adding a note to a mobile stock update

When you correct a bin quantity from the Warehouse Mobile App, you can type a short explanation that is saved with the change. The note appears in the SKU quantity log so managers can see the reason without needing to ask.

How to add a note

  1. In Luminous, go to Tools → Warehouse Mobile App.
  2. Open the scanner and navigate to the bin location and SKU you want to update.
  3. On the stock-update screen, enter the new quantity in the quantity field.
  4. In the "Add a note (optional)..." box below the quantity field, type your reason (for example: Damaged pallet, recounted by hand or Corrected after cycle count).
  5. Tap Update and confirm.

The note is saved with the inventory change and is visible in the SKU Quantity Log under the Remarks column — the same column used by desktop manual adjustment entries.

Things to know

  • Notes are optional. Leaving the field blank and tapping Update works exactly as it always has — no extra steps required.
  • 1,000-character limit. The app enforces this at the keyboard, so you'll be stopped before you can submit an overly long note.
  • Whitespace-only entries are ignored. If you tap the field accidentally and leave only spaces, no note is stored.
  • Where to find the note later: Open the SKU record → Qty Logs tab. The note appears in the Remarks column on the row for the recount entry.

Who can use this?

Any team member with access to the Warehouse Mobile App quantity-update screen. No additional permissions are required beyond what is needed to update stock today.
