When you add a prepayment from a purchase order, you can enter it as a percentage of the PO total.

  1. Open the purchase order, go to the Payments tab, and click Add Prepayment.
  2. In the dialog, enter a value in the % of PO field (greater than 0 and up to 100). The Amount fills in automatically, rounded to the cent.
  3. The hint under the field shows the PO total the percentage is taken from. This is the same Total shown on the PO page, in the PO's currency.
  4. You can also type the Amount directly. The percentage updates to match, or clears if the amount is outside 0–100% of the PO total.
  5. Set the Payment Date and any Reference or Notes, then click Add Prepayment to save.

Notes

  • The percentage is only a calculator. Only the resulting Amount is saved.
  • The field is disabled if the PO has no total, or if you change the dialog's Currency away from the PO's currency. Set Currency back to the PO currency to use it.
  • If the prepayment is more than the PO is worth, you still get the usual overpayment warning.
  • This option is released behind a feature flag. If you don't see the field, ask support to enable it.
