Short answer: Not through the standard setup, and you shouldn't configure it that way. Each external warehouse location should be connected to exactly one warehouse group. Two groups pulling from the same location can make your on-hand numbers wrong.

How the standard setup works

On your integration account's Warehouse Mapping tab (Settings / Integrations, then the manage icon on the account), every external warehouse the integration reports is listed with a status of Connected or Unmapped. Each external warehouse is mapped to one warehouse group, and each warehouse group can be mapped to only one external warehouse.

  • If you pick a group that is already mapped to a different external warehouse, Luminous shows the warning "This warehouse group is already mapped to another external warehouse" and doesn't save the change.
  • If you assign a new group to an external warehouse that is already Connected, the previous group is disconnected in the same step. The external warehouse then points at only one group.
  • Choosing "-- Select Warehouse Group --" on a Connected row asks you to confirm. If you confirm, Luminous stops pulling inventory and shipments for that group from the integration.

Why sharing a location causes problems

A warehouse group that pulls stock writes the quantities it pulls into the Luminous warehouse set as that group's default warehouse. If two groups are both set up to pull from the same external location and both write into the same Luminous warehouse, that warehouse is updated by both pulls. Its on-hand can then swing even though nothing changed in the external system.

A second problem is a mismatch between names and targets. A group can share a warehouse's name and still be pointed at a different Luminous warehouse. You then see on-hand that matches neither the group nor the external system. Stock is stored and shown per Luminous warehouse, so a warehouse with no externally managed group keeps Luminous's own ledger quantity instead of the external system's quantity.

What to do instead

  1. Decide which Luminous warehouse group should own each external location.
  2. Open Manage → Locations → Warehouse Groups, edit the group, and check the Externally Managed Settings: the App Integration Account, the External Warehouse, and Pull Stocks.
  3. Make sure each group's default warehouse is the Luminous warehouse it is named for. Two groups should not write into the same warehouse.
  4. Use the Warehouse Mapping tab to confirm every external warehouse shows exactly one Connected group.
  5. After the next stock pull, check that on-hand for a few SKUs matches the external system.

If you need two Luminous warehouses to show the same external quantity, each one needs its own warehouse group, and each group should write into its own warehouse. Check with your Luminous contact before setting this up, because both groups would pull the same external location.

Good to know

Pending is still counted per Luminous warehouse. Even when on-hand matches, available can differ between warehouses if one has open orders allocated against it.
