Yes. Over-production is allowed — you can report more than the planned quantity on a work order.
Short answer
When you report production (Quick Complete), you can enter a quantity greater than planned. When you complete a work-order step for more than planned, the Complete Step dialog also offers to auto-commit available stock to cover the extra components.
How over-production is handled
- Enter the actual produced quantity, even if it exceeds the plan.
- Auto-commit available stock for over-production commits materials only where the full additional need can be covered by available stock — partial commits are skipped.
- The Produceable and Max shortcuts help you fill quantities quickly.
Consumption and cost scale with what you actually produced, according to each component's consumption basis (Planned vs Actual).
