Symptom

For an Amazon FBA inbound shipment, the units Luminous has received against your purchase order or transfer order are lower than the "Units located" figure on the Manage Shipments page in Seller Central. In some cases a closed shipment shows 0 received in Luminous while Seller Central shows it as fully received.

Why it happens

The two numbers measure different things.

  • Luminous follows the received quantities Amazon reports for the shipment. Luminous mirrors the FBA inbound shipment. Once you reconcile it to a PO or TO, it creates receiving reports from the receipts Amazon confirms. Posting is based on the quantities Amazon reported as received.
  • "Units located" is a Seller Central figure. Amazon describes it as units already received plus units updated during reconciliation. Reconciliation can add or remove units after a shipment closes. Examples are reallocations, units found later and reimbursements. It can keep changing for some time after the received quantity is final.
  • Adjustments that exist only in the located figure don't flow into Luminous. We found no located-units field in Luminous's inbound shipment data. Luminous therefore can't show that number or post it as a receipt automatically.
  • A shipment can show 0 received if its receipts weren't picked up. This can happen on a closed shipment. The usual sign is that Seller Central shows units as received but Luminous shows none.

How to resolve

  1. Compare the two figures. In Seller Central, hover over the "Units located" number to see the split between received and reconciled units. If the extra units are reconciled rather than received, the difference is expected.
  2. If Luminous shows 0 received on a shipment that Seller Central shows as received, contact support (see below). Don't adjust stock yet.
  3. If you need Luminous on-hand to match Seller Central for reconciled units, record a stock correction in Luminous for the difference. Go to Inventory > Inventory Adjustment Entries and create a new adjustment. Put the Amazon shipment ID in the note so the reason stays traceable.
  4. If you think a discrepancy in Seller Central is wrong, raise it with Amazon through Seller Central's own shipment reconciliation process. Luminous can't change Amazon's numbers.

When to contact support

  • Luminous shows 0 received, or clearly too few units, on a closed shipment that Seller Central shows as received. Send the Amazon shipment ID (for example FBAxxxxxxxx) and the PO or TO it is reconciled to.
  • The inbound shipment isn't reconciled to a PO or TO, or the receiving report didn't post after Amazon confirmed receipt.
  • You aren't sure whether a gap is reconciliation or a missing receipt.
