Why the numbers disagreed

Luminous tracks received quantities in two ways:

  1. Receipt lines — individual lines on receiving reports that each record their own unit and quantity as goods are received.
  2. A roll-up column — a stored total on the PO line that is updated when receipts are saved.

The PO line-item grid and cross-PO list have always derived the Received figure from receipt lines (method 1). The individual PO detail page was computing it from a simpler receipt aggregate that had two gaps:

  • It did not convert to the line's ordered unit. On a line purchased in cases but inventoried in eaches, it could display 24 (eaches) where every other view showed 2 (cases).
  • It had no fallback for lines whose receipt history predates the platform's per-line receipt tables. Those lines returned 0 even though the roll-up column held the correct total, affecting many historical purchase orders.

As a result, the detail page and the grid could show different numbers for the same line.

What changed

The PO detail page now receives the Received and Remaining to Receive figures directly from the backend, computed by the same logic the grid uses:

  • Quantities are summed from individual receipt lines and expressed in the line's ordered unit (the unit shown in the UOM column).
  • For lines with no receipt rows — typically older orders imported before per-line receipts were tracked — the system falls back to the stored roll-up total rather than returning 0.
  • Voided receipt reports are excluded from the total.

The shipped-vs-received variance indicator (the triangle icon next to the Shipped column) also benefits: both inputs are now on the same unit basis, so the indicator no longer fires on correctly-received case-pack lines.
