Which rows appear in the Stock Snapshot
The Stock Snapshot report shows a row for every SKU–warehouse combination that has any meaningful quantity activity within the date range you selected, or a non-zero balance at either end of the period. Specifically, a row appears if any of the following is non-zero:
| Column | What it checks |
|---|---|
| Starting on-hand balance | Quantity on hand as of the period start |
| Ending on-hand balance | Quantity on hand as of the period end |
| Incoming (in-transit) balance | Open inbound quantity at the period start |
| Received quantity | Units received during the period |
| Sold quantity | Units sold/shipped during the period |
| Adjustment count | Net of all other inventory movements during the period |
Dollar/value columns do not determine visibility — a row with zero quantity but a non-zero value will still be excluded unless one of the quantity columns above is non-zero.
Oversold (negative) balances are included
A SKU whose on-hand balance went negative due to overselling counts as non-zero and will appear in the report. This is intentional: a negative balance is meaningful inventory data, not dead stock.
True dead stock is hidden by default
A row is hidden only when every quantity column is zero — meaning the SKU had no balance, no receipts, no sales, no adjustments, and no in-transit quantity during or at either end of the period. This keeps the report focused on SKUs that were actually active.
Why you might see more rows after a recent update
Prior to a recent fix, rows could be incorrectly hidden if the starting and ending on-hand balances were both zero, even when the SKU had received or sold units within the window. The report now checks all quantity columns, so SKUs with activity that nets to zero will now appear as expected.
Exporting the full SKU catalogue
If you need to include every SKU — even those with no quantity activity at all (pure dead stock) — check the "Include All Zero Stock Entries" checkbox in the Stock Snapshot filter bar, next to the date range fields. This is self-service and takes effect immediately; you do not need to contact your account team.
Tips
- Use the SKU, Product Name, and Preferred Supplier filters at the top of the report to narrow the row set before exporting.
- The same visibility rules apply to both the on-screen grid and the downloaded Excel export.
