Overview

When you push a product to Shopify, Luminous picks the selling price to send. It never uses cost (FOB / Purchase Cost or average cost) as a selling price.

Order Luminous checks

  1. The size/variant's Retail Price
  2. The size/variant's Wholesale Price
  3. The master product's Retail Price
  4. The master product's Wholesale Price

The first value greater than zero is sent as the Shopify price.

If no price is set

A price of $0 or an empty price counts as "no price". When Luminous updates an existing Shopify listing, it leaves the price out, so Shopify keeps the price it already has. This applies to single products and to products with variants. When Luminous creates a new listing or variant with no price set, it’s created at $0.00, so set a Retail Price before the first push.

Push the price

  1. Open the SKU and go to the Publishing tab.
  2. On the Shopify listing, click Sync Update.
  3. If the product is already published and has variants, tick Also update all already-published variants (SKU, price, barcode, and mapped fields). Without it, Sync Update only adds new variants and existing prices aren’t changed.
  4. Click Sync Update.

What to check

  • Open the SKU, go to Details, and look under Pricing and cost. Set a Retail Price if you want Luminous to control the Shopify price.
  • If you want Shopify to keep managing a price, leave Retail Price and Wholesale Price at $0.
  • If an item was affected by an earlier push, correct its price in Shopify directly. Pushes now leave a price alone when none is set in Luminous, but they won't restore the old one.
  • The Price column on the channel’s Product Mapping shows the price last pulled from Shopify. It doesn’t change right after a push, so check the price in Shopify itself.
