Available + Incoming Quantity on the Stocks Grid

The Available + Incoming Quantity column on the Stocks grid (Inventory → Stocks Grid) shows a single combined figure:

Available + Incoming Quantity = Available Quantity + Incoming Quantity

It is the number planners and buyers typically use to judge whether a SKU needs a new purchase order — "what do I have right now plus what is already on its way?"

Why a dedicated column instead of just reading the two columns side-by-side?

Because the Stocks grid paginates server-side, a client-calculated sum (e.g. a spreadsheet formula after export) can disagree with sorted or filtered results. The Available + Incoming value is calculated on the server and stored alongside the row, so:

  • Sorting by this column ranks every SKU correctly across all pages.
  • Column filters (e.g. Available + Incoming > 50) work against the same server-computed value, not a browser estimate.
  • Exports (CSV and Excel) include the column and its value matches what you see on screen.

Over-committed (negative available) SKUs

When a SKU is over-sold, its Available Quantity is a negative number. The combined column carries that negative value through, so the sum correctly reduces the incoming total rather than ignoring the shortfall.

Example: Available = −10, Incoming = 40 → Available + Incoming = 30, not 40.

How to use it

  1. Navigate to Inventory → Stocks Grid.
  2. The Available + Incoming Quantity column is visible by default. If you have hidden it, open the column chooser and re-enable it.
  3. Filter by clicking the ▽ icon under the column header. Use Greater than 0 to find SKUs that have some buffer of committed or on-the-way stock, or Less than [your minimum] to spot replenishment gaps.
  4. Sort by clicking the column header to rank SKUs from lowest to highest combined supply — the SKUs at the top are your most urgent reorder candidates.
  5. Export — apply any filters you need, then go to Actions → Export → "Inventory Numbers to CSV." This runs as a background job: you'll get a toast when it starts, and the finished file appears on the Downloads page. Despite the menu item's name, the delivered file is an XLSX workbook (not a CSV), and it includes the "Available + Incoming Quantity" column matching the grid.

Important notes

  • Incoming quantity is recalculated on a schedule and may be a few minutes behind very recent purchase-order activity..
  • Available + Incoming does not replace Available Quantity for fulfillment decisions. Use Available Quantity to know what you can ship today; use Available + Incoming to plan future supply.
