Overview

Luminous now supports built-in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to secure your account at login. After entering your password, you'll receive a 6-digit verification code by email that must be entered to complete sign-in.

How It Works (Step-by-Step)

  1. Navigate to your Luminous login page and enter your email address and password as usual.
  2. After submitting your credentials, you will be taken to a "Verify your email" screen.
  3. Check your inbox for an email from LUMINOUS <noreply@luminousolutions.com> with the subject line "Your Luminous sign-in code."
  4. Open the email and locate your 6-digit verification code (e.g., 271575).
  5. Enter the code into the verification field on the Luminous login screen.
  6. Click Verify Code to complete sign-in and access your account.

Note: The verification code expires in 10 minutes. If the code expires before you use it, click Resend code on the verification screen to receive a new one.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Check your spam or junk folder if the verification email doesn't appear in your inbox within a minute or two. The sender address is noreply@luminousolutions.com.
  • Don't close the verification screen while waiting for the email — navigating away may invalidate the session and require you to start the login process again.
  • Use Resend code sparingly. Each resend generates a new code and invalidates the previous one. If you requested multiple codes, only the most recently sent code will work.
  • Shared inboxes: If your team uses a shared login email, ensure the person signing in has access to that inbox to retrieve the code in time.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

Q: I didn't receive the verification email. What should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, click Resend code on the verification screen. If you still don't receive it after a minute, confirm that your email address on file in Luminous is correct by contacting your account administrator.

Q: My code expired before I could enter it. What now?
Click Resend code on the verification screen to receive a fresh 6-digit code. The new code will be valid for another 10 minutes.

Q: I entered the code but it says it's invalid.
Make sure you're entering the most recently sent code — if you clicked Resend code, only the latest code is valid. Also double-check for any typos; the code is numeric only.

Q: Does MFA apply to all users?
Yes. MFA via email verification is now required for all users signing in to Luminous.

Q: I previously used Auth0 to sign in. Has anything changed? A: You'll now see an email verification step added to every login. No action is required on your end — the new flow applies automatically.

Everything else in the article (step-by-step, code expiry, Resend code, other FAQs) stays as-is.

Q: Can I use an authenticator app instead of email?
At this time, verification codes are delivered by email only. Authenticator app support is not currently available.
