Due Soon tab
The Due Soon tab on the Bills page shows bills that are coming due in the next 14 days. A bill appears there when both of these are true:
- Its due date is today or within the next 14 days. Bills that are already past due do not appear here. Use the overdue view for those.
- Its status is Open, Partially Paid or Draft.
Bills that are paid or cancelled never appear on this tab.
Summary counters at the top of the page
The line above the bills grid shows Total Outstanding (base), Overdue, Due This Week and Due This Month.
| Counter | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Due This Week | Bills with a due date from today through the next 7 days. |
| Due This Month | Bills with a due date from today through the next 30 days. This is a rolling 30-day window, not the calendar month. |
| Overdue | Bills with status Open or Partially Paid whose due date is before today. |
| Total Outstanding (base) | The combined outstanding amount of all bills that are not paid or cancelled. It is shown in your base currency. |
Things to know:
- The Due This Week and Due This Month counters include every bill that is not Paid or Cancelled. That includes Draft bills.
- The two counters overlap. A bill due in 3 days is counted in both.
- The 14-day Due Soon tab is a different window from the 7-day and 30-day counters. Its list will not necessarily match either number.
Obligations tab
Clicking Obligations takes you to the Payment Obligations dashboard. Payment obligations are milestone-based payment schedules tied to purchase orders. They answer "when do we need to pay this vendor, and how much?"
For example, if a PO has payment terms like "50% Deposit, 50% Before Shipment", Luminous can generate one obligation for each milestone. You can do this from the Payment Obligations tab on the PO.
The dashboard shows all obligations across all POs:
- Total Outstanding: the count and amount of obligations that are still unfulfilled.
- Overdue: obligations that are Due or Partially Fulfilled and past their due date.
- Due This Week: obligations due within the next 7 days that are not yet fulfilled, cancelled or waived.
- A grid with the status, milestone, PO number, vendor, amount, outstanding amount, due date and linked bills. Click a row to open the PO.
Obligations are separate from bills. A bill is the vendor's invoice. An obligation is the planned payment milestone. You can create a bill from an obligation, or link an existing bill to one, and the obligation's fulfilled amount updates.
