Overview

When the Purchase-to-Order feature is enabled on your account, Luminous tracks which sales order lines have been allocated to each incoming purchase order (PO) line. You can see this breakdown directly in the PO line items grid — no separate report needed.

Where to find the allocation columns

The allocation details appear in the PO line items grid, which is available in two places:

  1. Inside a specific Purchase Order — Open any purchase order (navigate to Inventory → Purchase Orders, then click a PO number). The line items grid embedded in the PO detail page shows all lines for that PO.
  2. Cross-PO Line Items view — From the Purchase Orders section, select Line Items in the left-hand view list to see lines across all POs at once.

Note: The allocation columns only appear if the Purchase-to-Order feature is active on your account. If you do not see them, contact your account administrator.

What the columns show

When Purchase-to-Order is enabled, three additional columns appear on each PO line row:

ColumnWhat it means
AllocatedTotal quantity on this PO line that is currently reserved (pegged) to one or more sales order lines.
Available to allocateQuantity still free to be allocated — calculated as Remaining to Receive minus Allocated, floored at zero.
Allocated toA list of clickable links, one per pegged sales order line. Each entry is labeled with the sales order number, the SKU in brackets, and the allocated quantity (e.g. SO-1042 [WIDGET-RED] ×5).

How to use the "Allocated to" column

  1. Find the PO line you want to inspect in the grid.
  2. Look at the Allocated to column for that row. Each entry represents one sales order line that has stock reserved from this PO line.
  3. Click any entry to navigate directly to that sales order.

If the column is blank, no sales order lines are currently pegged to that PO line.

Important notes

  • Only open (not yet fulfilled) allocations are listed. Once a PO line's stock is received and the linked fulfillment order ships, the peg is considered released and the allocation is no longer shown as pending.
  • If a PO line is over-allocated relative to what has been received, the Available to allocate value will show 0 (it is floored and will not go negative).
  • The Allocated and Available to allocate quantities are calculated in the same unit of measure as the rest of the PO line (the ordered UOM).

You can also see allocation figures from the product side. On a product's inventory detail page, an Incoming & Allocations panel lists all inbound POs for that SKU with their incoming, allocated, and available-to-allocate quantities per PO line — giving you the inverse view (product → which POs have stock allocated).
