Symptom
You open the Action Center and see a non-zero count on one or more cards — most commonly Sales orders awaiting posting or Fulfillment orders not pushed. Orders are not progressing and you want to understand why and take action without leaving the page to hunt through multiple screens.
Why it happens
The Action Center is a single triage dashboard that collects every record currently blocked on a person. The page organises its queues by urgency — the most critical issues appear at the top — and shows a live count per queue so you can see at a glance where work is concentrated. Records land in these queues when automated processing has not completed: for example, a sales order that could not be matched to your product catalog, or a fulfillment order whose push to the warehouse failed or was never attempted.
Two zones are shown:
- Assigned to you — approval requests where you are the named approver (personal; only you see your count).
- Your team — tenant-wide queues visible to anyone with the relevant permission, sorted so the most critical issues appear first.
How to resolve
1. Open the Action Center and read the dashboard
- Click Action Center in the sidebar.
- The page opens automatically on the most urgent queue that has work in it — typically your approvals if any are pending, or the highest-severity team queue otherwise.
- Each card shows a count (capped at 9,999+ to keep the page fast), a one-line reason, and a severity level. Cards marked critical should be addressed first — an unresolved critical queue means nothing will ship.
- If a card shows Couldn't check instead of a number, the underlying data source did not respond. Click that card (or the Retry option) to try again. A failed check is never shown as zero, so you will always know when a queue's status is uncertain.
2. Prioritise within a queue
Click a queue in the left panel to open its list on the right. The list shows up to 25 records, oldest first. Each row shows how long it has been waiting (e.g. "waiting 12 d"). Click Load more to see the next records.
3. Resolve Sales orders awaiting posting
These orders came in from a sales channel but haven't posted to inventory, so nothing can be picked or shipped against them.
- Click the Sales orders awaiting posting card.
- Use the chips at the top of the list (for example, SKU not mapped to a product) to see why orders are stuck and filter by that reason.
- Click Reprocess on a row. The button changes to Reprocess queued and a message confirms it: "Reprocess queued for [order] — it posts if your purgatory settings allow." Don't click it again. The row stays in the list until the background job runs.
- If the order keeps coming back, click the order number to open it, or click View all to see the full list and fix the mapping. Both open in a new tab; View all opens Purgatory.
4. Resolve Fulfillment orders not pushed
This is the critical queue: fulfillment orders that never reached the warehouse. Nothing ships until each one is pushed.
- Click Fulfillment orders not pushed. The channel breakdown under it in the left panel shows how the total splits by fulfillment channel.
- At the top of the list, use the BY CHANNEL chips to see stuck orders for one fulfillment channel, or the BY CAUSE chips (for example, Never attempted or Channel rejected the push) to see them by reason. Click All to clear the filter.
- On a row, click Push to channel, then Yes in the "Push to fulfillment channel" confirmation.
- If the push fails, a message appears at the top of the page and the reason is also shown on the row (for example, "Fulfillment Channel is required.").
- Click Ask AI on a row to open Agent Chat and ask about that order.
- If a push keeps failing, click the order number to open the fulfillment order and check its fulfillment channel, carrier setup, and hold status.
5. Resolve Approvals awaiting you
- Click the Approvals awaiting you card to see every approval request assigned to you.
- Click Approve or Reject on an individual row. A confirmation dialog appears before the decision is recorded.
- To handle multiple approvals at once, check the boxes next to the rows you want to action, then click Bulk approve or Bulk reject at the top of the list. One confirmation dialog covers all selected rows.
6. Inventory queues
- Inventory discrepancies — a count only. Clicking it opens the discrepancy report in a new tab.
- Phantom on-hand — lists stock counted at warehouse level that isn't in any bin. Correcting it is a reviewed operation, so there's no fix button: open a row to see why it drifted and go to the count entry to correct it.
When to contact support
- A fulfillment order's push continues to fail after you have verified the fulfillment channel settings and the order is not on hold or cancelled.
- Reprocessed sales orders keep returning to the awaiting-posting queue despite the order appearing correctly mapped.
- A Couldn't check state persists on a card across multiple retries and page reloads.
- You do not see an Action Center link in your sidebar (the feature is enabled per tenant — your Luminous account team can turn it on).
