Updating a Warehouse Address
You can edit a warehouse's address (and other details) at any time from the Locations page. Changes take effect immediately and will appear on documents such as purchase orders that reference that warehouse.
Steps
- Open Locations. In the left-hand navigation, go to Manage → Locations.
- Go to the Warehouses list. On the Locations page, click Manage to view your list of warehouses.
- Open the warehouse editor. Click the ⋮ menu on the row of the warehouse you want to update and choose Edit warehouse. This opens the Update Warehouse dialog.
- Edit the address fields. The dialog contains a structured address card with the following fields:
- Street address (required)
- Apartment, suite, etc. (optional – second address line)
- City (required)
- State (required)
- ZIP (required)
- Country (required – select from the country picker)
- Update contact information (optional). Below the address you can also correct the warehouse Phone and Email, which are used by carriers for pickup notifications.
- Save your changes. Click Save changes. You will see a "Updated successfully!" confirmation. If any required field is blank, you will be prompted to fill it in before the record can be saved.
What else can you update in this dialog?
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Warehouse name | Required. |
| Default shipping location | The bin/location inventory is deducted from when shipping. Inventory deducts from a SKU's pick location first; falls back to this default if none is set. |
| Default receiving location | The bin/location where received inventory is placed by default. |
| Linked ShipStation warehouses | Optional link to one or more ShipStation warehouses. |
Notes
- All address fields except the second address line are required. Submitting with any of them blank will prevent saving.
- The address you enter here is the one printed on purchase orders sent to suppliers. Make sure it matches your physical shipping/receiving location.
- You cannot delete a warehouse that is currently assigned to a Warehouse Group. Remove it from the group first, then delete if needed.
