Ship date on invoice templates
The actual ship date from the linked sales order is now available in both invoice PDF (Options mode) templates and custom invoice HTML templates.
Invoice PDFs — Options mode
If your invoice uses the standard field-picker template (the default for most accounts):
- Go to Manage → Templates and open your invoice template.
- Under Invoice Fields, check the Ship Date box.
- Click Save.
The ship date will then print in the invoice header alongside fields like Order Number and Customer PO Number. The value is formatted as MM/DD/YYYY. If no ship date is on record for the linked order, the field is left blank.
Custom invoice HTML templates
If your invoice uses a fully custom HTML template:
- Open your invoice template in Manage → Templates.
- Add the
{{shipDate}}placeholder in the header section where you want the date to appear.
{{#shipDate}}
<div>Ship Date: {{shipDate.shortDate}}</div>
{{/shipDate}}
The {{#shipDate}}…{{/shipDate}} block is conditional — it renders only when a ship date exists, so the section is invisible on uninvoiced or unshipped orders.
Date format options
| Placeholder | Example |
|---|---|
| {{shipDate.short}} (or {{shipDate.shortDate}}) | 08/06/2026 |
| {{shipDate.long}} (or {{shipDate.longDate}}) | August 6, 2026 |
| {{shipDate.medium}} (or {{shipDate.mediumDate}}) | Aug 6, 2026 |
Where the date comes from
The ship date is pulled from the sales order linked to the invoice. It reflects when the order was actually shipped — not an estimated or requested date. If the order has not shipped, the field is empty and the conditional block will not render.
