Overview
The Sales Order Grid lets you filter which orders appear based on the SKUs contained in their line items. When you filter by SKU, any order that has at least one line item matching your search term will be included in the results. You can also filter by Item Name (product name). However, other line-item-specific field values (such as line-item quantities, lot numbers, or line-item custom fields) cannot be used as order-level grid filters.
Filtering by Item SKU
Using the inline column filter (standard experience)
- Navigate to Operations → Sales Order Grid.
- Scroll right (or make the column visible via the Columns panel on the right side of the grid) to find the Item SKU column.
- Click the filter input that appears directly beneath the Item SKU column header (this is the floating filter row).
- Type the SKU you want to search for. You can enter a partial value — the filter matches any order whose line items contain that text.
- The grid will reload showing only orders that have at least one line item whose SKU matches your entry. This search covers the internal (Luminous) SKU, the channel-mapped SKU, and alternate SKUs.
Tip: You can combine the Item SKU filter with other column filters (Order Status, Channel, Tags, etc.) at the same time. All active filters narrow results together.
Using the standalone Filters panel (Beta)
If your account has the new standalone filters feature enabled:
- Click + Add Filter at the top of the Sales Order Grid.
- Select Item SKU from the list of available fields.
- Choose a condition (such as Contains) and enter your SKU value.
- The active filter appears as a tag in the filter bar and the grid updates accordingly.
Note: If a filter tag appears yellow, it means the filter is active on a column that is currently hidden. Your results are still being narrowed by that filter. Hover over the yellow tag to see a tooltip explaining which hidden column it applies to.
Filtering by Product Name
The Item Name (product name) field is also available as a column filter in the grid. Activate it the same way as Item SKU — find the Item Name column, use the inline filter input beneath the header, and type to match orders containing that product.
Viewing line-item details within an order
Once you have filtered the grid to the orders you want, you can expand any order row to see its line-item details. Click the expand arrow at the left of an order row to reveal a sub-grid showing:
- Internal SKU
- Product Name
- Ordered Qty
- UOM (unit of measure)
- Location
- Lot (if lot-tracked)
These line-item details are for reference only — they cannot themselves be used as filter criteria to narrow the orders grid.
What is NOT supported
| What you want to filter by | Supported? |
|---|---|
| Item SKU (any line item in the order) | ✅ Yes — Item SKU column filter |
| Product Name (any line item in the order) | ✅ Yes — Item Name column filter |
| Order-level custom fields | ✅ Yes — custom field columns appear in the grid when configured |
| Line-item quantity, location, lot number | ❌ Not available as grid-level filters |
| Line-item custom field values | ❌ Not available as grid-level filters |
If you need to find specific line items across many orders (e.g., all line items for a SKU), use the Line Items tab at the top of the Sales Orders grid, which lists individual order lines with their own column filters (the Reports section can also help for line-item-level analysis).
Saving your filter setup
Once you have configured filters and columns the way you want, save the view as a preset so you can reuse it quickly:
- Old filters UI: Click Save Filters / give the view a name after applying your filters.
- New standalone filters UI (Beta): Scroll to the bottom of the left sidebar and click Save Preset.
Saved presets capture both your active filters and your column visibility configuration.
