What the warning means
The Sync & Integration Health section of the Close the Books checklist includes a Cost layers synced check. It fails with a Warning when the nightly cost-layer rebuild has not completed successfully within the last 36 hours.
When the check fails, Luminous shows:
- When it last ran — e.g. "Cost layers last synced 6 days ago"
- Whether the nightly schedule is enabled — if the schedule was turned off, the message appends "— schedule disabled"
This check is a Warning, not a Blocker — it does not prevent you from closing the period, but unresolved staleness means your cost-layer figures may not reflect the latest data.
How to re-run the rebuild from the checklist
- Open the Close the Books wizard and load the checklist for your period.
- Locate the Cost layers synced row under Sync & Integration Health.
- Click Re-run. A confirmation prompt will ask you to confirm.
- Click Yes, re-run to proceed.
Luminous dispatches a full cost-layer rebuild (covering all active SKUs), then:
- Shows a progress indicator on the check row while the job runs.
- After the job completes, automatically re-evaluates the check.
- Displays a success notice only if the check actually passed — a job finishing alone is not treated as confirmation.
If the job takes longer than around 10 minutes, Luminous will tell you to monitor progress in the Jobs panel instead.
If the check still fails after a re-run
A completed rebuild does not automatically pass the check if the nightly schedule remains disabled. After a successful re-run, the check reads the schedule state: if the schedule is still off, it will fail again on the next open of the checklist (because the next nightly cycle won't run). To keep cost layers current going forward:
- Re-enable the nightly cost-layer rebuild in your account settings.
- Contact your Luminous administrator if you are unsure which setting controls the schedule.
Channel sync staleness
The All channels syncing check (also in Sync & Integration Health) shows similar staleness details — last sync time and schedule status — but has no automated re-run button. The check links directly to Integrations, where you can identify and resolve the stale channel manually.
Permissions
Viewing the checklist requires the Close Books — Read permission. Triggering the Re-run requires the Close Books — Remediate permission. Administrators have both by default; contact your account administrator if either button is missing for your user.
