Printing pallet labels from a receiving report

You print pallet labels from the receiving report you created when you received the purchase order. You can print them for the whole receipt or for a single line.

Option 1: Pallet labels for the whole receipt

  1. Go to Inventory → Receiving and find the receiving report (for example, RR-1234).
  2. Open the row’s actions menu (⋮) and click Print pallet labels….
  3. Under Barcode value, choose what the barcode on each label encodes:
  • Internal SKU (each)
  • UPC (fall back to internal SKU)
  • Pallet ID (unique per pallet): each pallet gets its own scannable ID. If you reprint a pallet’s label, it keeps the same ID.
  1. In How many pallets arrived, enter the number of pallets. Only the person at the truck knows this count, so you have to enter it.
  2. Choose a Printer:
  • Pick a print station to send the labels straight to a printer.
  • Pick No printer — download a PDF to get a PDF you can print yourself. If you haven’t set up a print station, the dialog tells you the labels will be produced as a PDF, with a Set up a print agent link.
  1. Set Copies of each label if you need more than one copy of each.
  2. Check the Preview and the label total at the bottom of the dialog, then print or click Download PDF.

Option 2: Pallet labels for one receipt line

On the Receiving page, expand the receiving report to see its lines. Click the pallet icon on the line; its tooltip reads “Print pallet labels for this line”. The steps are the same as above.

If a receipt has more than one line, the contents on a whole-receipt pallet label read Mixed. Printing from a single line shows that line’s product instead.

What a pallet label shows

  • “PALLET 1 OF 5” style numbering
  • the barcode (the value you chose above)
  • the receiving report reference
  • the supplier
  • a contents summary

Box and pallet labels are separate print runs. Each line also has its own icons for product and lot labels, and for box / master carton labels.

Does each pallet get a unique barcode or pallet ID?

Yes, if you choose it. Set Barcode value to Pallet ID (unique per pallet). Each pallet in the run then gets its own scannable ID, and reprinting a pallet’s label keeps that ID.

With Internal SKU or UPC, every label in the run carries the same barcode. In that case only the printed “PALLET n OF N” text tells the pallets apart.
