Fulfilling several orders at once

You can fulfill many posted sales orders in one step from the Sales Orders grid.

  1. Go to Sales Orders and tick the checkbox beside each order you want to fulfill.
  2. Open the bulk Actions menu and choose Fulfill Orders (N). N is the number of orders you selected.
  3. The Fulfill Orders modal opens. Under Fulfillable Orders (N) it lists each order with its Order Date, Order ID, Order # and Total. You can sort the list by clicking any of those column headings.
  4. Review the list, then submit the modal to start fulfillment. Each order shows a status on its row: Shipping, SHIPPED, or FAILED (with the error message, if one is returned). An order that is not included shows EXCLUDED.

Notes:

  • The action only appears for users who have permission to mark sales orders as shipped.
  • It is available for posted orders.
  • If your selection extends beyond the orders currently loaded on the page (for example, after using "select all"), the fulfillment runs as a background job. A "Running Fulfill Orders Job, please wait..." message is shown while it runs.

Choosing which line items to include

Click the arrow at the start of an order row to expand it and see its line items. Each line item has an Include checkbox. You can tick or untick the checkbox in the header to include or exclude all of the order's items at once.

Only line items with quantity still remaining to fulfill that haven't already shipped get a checkbox. Fully shipped lines and split child lines don't.

Selecting a range of items with Shift

The Include column shows the hint "Hold Shift to select range".

  1. Click the Include checkbox on the first line item.
  2. Hold Shift and click the checkbox on another line item in the same order.
  3. Every selectable line item between the two is set to match the checkbox you just clicked, either all ticked or all unticked.

Things to know:

  • Shift-range selection works within a single order's line items. It doesn't span from one order to another.
  • If you hold Shift on an order other than the one you last clicked, Luminous treats it as a normal single click.
  • The per-item Include checkboxes (and the header checkbox) are only active when the modal contains one order. When you bulk-fulfill several orders, those checkboxes are disabled, and the orders are fulfilled as listed. To choose individual line items, open and fulfill that order on its own.
  • The fields for Fulfillment Order Key, Fulfillment Channel, Ship By Date, Fulfillment Order Status and Push To Integration only appear when the modal holds a single order.

For how fulfillment orders are created, pushed and managed afterwards, see the related article on fulfillment orders.
