Accounting Dashboard
The Accounting Dashboard gives you a at-a-glance financial and operational view for any date range up to three months. It is available on all accounts under Insights → Accounting.
Getting there
- In the left navigation, open Insights and expand Accounting to see the accounting reports.
- To open the Accounting Dashboard itself, go to yourcompany.joinluminous.com/reports/accounting (it redirects to the dashboard), or search for it with the Ask AI search bar at the top of the page.
The Accounting menu also contains Credit Memos by Reason, Close the Books, Close history, Resolve Inventory Discrepancies, Stock Snapshot, and Drill Down reports.
Selecting a date range
Use the Date Range picker at the top of the page. The start and end date must be within the same 3-month window — the page shows a validation message if you exceed that limit.
What the dashboard shows
| Section | Key metrics |
|---|---|
| Financial Snapshot | Total Revenue, Total COGS, Gross Profit, Gross Margin % |
| Sales & Channel Performance | Net Revenue, Sales Count, Units Sold, Average Order Value (AOV), Returns (count + COGS), Refunds (value + %), Discounts, Promo Spend ROAS |
| Inventory & Fulfillment | Ending Inventory Value, Inventory Turnover, Deadstock Value, Orders Shipped, Unfulfilled Orders, Avg Shipping Cost, Avg Fulfillment Time |
| Reconciliation (On-Hand) | Starting Value − COGS Value + Receipts Value + Adjustments Value = Ending Value (plus system-calculated ending for comparison) |
All figures update automatically when you change the date range.
Exporting
Click the Export button (top right) while a valid date range is selected to download a journal export for the period. The button is disabled if the date range is invalid or an export is already in progress.
Frequently asked questions
Q: I see a dash (–) where I expected a number. Why? A: The metric could not be computed for the selected period — this usually means there are no qualifying transactions in that range, or the underlying data is still loading.
Q: How is this different from Close the Books? A: The Accounting Dashboard is a read-only performance view. Close the Books is a guided workflow for validating data accuracy and formally locking a period. Use the Dashboard for quick reviews; use Close the Books for period-end sign-off.
Q: Can I view more than 3 months at once? A: No — the dashboard enforces a 3-month maximum window per query. For longer trend analysis, run the query multiple times for adjacent periods or use the Stock Snapshot report.
Q: Who can access this page? A: Any admin or manager-role user with access to the Reports section. No separate enablement is required — the page is available to all accounts.
