Filtering PO line items by SKU or alternate SKU
The Purchase Order Line Items grid (the cross-PO view that shows line items across all of your purchase orders) supports several SKU-related column filters. This article explains which filter to use depending on what you are searching for.
"Any identifier" search — match by internal SKU, product name, or alternate SKU at once
Use the SKU (any identifier) filter when you have a value — such as a supplier's item code — and are not sure whether it is stored as the internal SKU, the product name, or an alternate/alias SKU.
- Open Inventory → Purchase Orders → Line Items (the cross-PO grid).
- Click + Add Filter and choose SKU (any identifier).
- Enter your value.
- Contains (
sku[contains]=…): partial match — useful for a keyword or partial code. - in (
sku[in]=A,B,C): exact match on a comma-separated list — useful when you have a batch of supplier codes to look up at once.
- Contains (
- The grid returns every line where the internal SKU, product name, or any alternate SKU matches your term.
Tip: This is the recommended filter when you receive a list of supplier item codes and need to find the corresponding PO lines, because the OR logic means a single pass covers all three identifier fields.
Filtering by alternate SKU specifically
If you know the value is an alternate/alias SKU and want to match only that field (excluding internal-SKU or product-name coincidences), use the Alternate SKU column filter.
- Open the Inventory → Purchase Orders → Line Items grid.
- Click + Add Filter and choose Alternate SKU.
- Use equals (
alternateSku[eq]=…) for an exact match, or contains for a partial one.
Filtering by internal SKU only
The SKU (internal) column filter (internalSku) narrows to the product's primary internal identifier only. Use this when you explicitly want to exclude alternate SKU matches.
How alternate SKUs are set up
Alternate SKUs (aliases) are added on the SKU detail page inside Inventory → SKUs. See How to Create an Alternative SKU (Alias) for step-by-step instructions.
