Overview

Partial order fulfillment can be controlled at three levels. Luminous checks them in this order and uses the first one that is set:

  1. The sales order's own setting. This is set directly on the order, or inherited from its customer or business account.
  2. The sales channel's setting. This is the new per-channel setting.
  3. The tenant-wide Smart Fulfillment setting.

Steps

  1. Go to Manage → Channels, open the channel and click Edit. Scroll to the Auto Fulfillment section.
  2. Find Allow Partial Order Fulfillment and choose one of:
    • Default: the channel follows the tenant-wide Smart Fulfillment setting.
    • Enabled: partial fulfillment is allowed for this channel's orders.
    • Disabled: orders on this channel are fulfilled whole, even if the tenant setting allows partials.
  3. If you chose Enabled, enter a Partial Order Threshold % from 0 to 99. It is required when Enabled.
  4. Save the channel.

How the threshold works

When the channel is Enabled, a fulfillment order is created for the in-stock items once at least the threshold percentage of the order's units can be filled. The remaining items wait. A sales order that has its own threshold keeps that value.

Notes

  • Choosing Default clears the channel's saved override and threshold.
  • Choosing Disabled also clears the threshold, because it only applies when Enabled.
  • A sales order's own partial-order setting always wins over the channel's.
  • This option is rolling out behind a feature flag. If you don't see it, contact support.
