Luminous connects to third-party warehouse management systems (WMS) — including Extensiv 3PL Central, CartonCloud, ShipBob, ShipHero, and many others — through the built-in integration catalog. Most WMS systems route through TrackStar, Luminous's warehouse connectivity layer, so you do not need separate TrackStar credentials; Luminous handles the authentication hand-off for you.
Step 1 — Open the Integration Catalog
- Click your name in the top-right corner and choose Settings / Integrations.
- Click + Add Integration.
Step 2 — Find Your WMS
The catalog groups integrations by type. Under the WMS category you will find popular systems — Extensiv 3PL Central is listed as a featured tile.
- Open the Fulfillment tab, or scroll All Integrations.
- Extensiv (3PL Central) is listed under Popular Integrations. CartonCloud and many other 3PLs have their own tiles in All Integrations.
- Don't see yours? Choose Browse all 3PLs and warehouses to search the full warehouse network.
Step 3 — Authenticate
Once you select your WMS tile, Luminous opens the TrackStar authorization flow:
- Click Connect (or the equivalent button shown on the tile).
- In the TrackStar dialog, find and select your specific WMS (e.g., Extensiv 3PL Central, CartonCloud).
- Enter the credentials your 3PL provided — typically an API key, username/password, or OAuth token depending on the system. Your 3PL's technical contact can supply these.
- Complete the authorization and wait for the connection to load.
Step 4 — Map Products and SKUs
After connecting, click Manage Products to review SKUs pulled from the WMS and map them to products in Luminous. Confirm that each WMS SKU resolves to the correct Luminous product before moving on.
Step 5 — Configure a Warehouse and Warehouse Group
Inventory only flows into Luminous once you attach a warehouse group to the new connection:
- Go to Manage → Locations and click Warehouse Groups.
- Create a group, or open an existing one with the row menu → Edit.
- Under Group Options, turn on Externally Managed and select the new connection.
- Click Submit.
Step 6 — Pull Inventory
Once the warehouse group is saved, click Pull Stocks and confirm. Luminous will sync current on-hand quantities from the WMS. Verify the numbers under Products → Inventory before going live.
Step 7 — (Optional) Pull Sales Orders
If you also want to import sales orders from the WMS, set up a Channel in Luminous (similar to connecting Shopify or ShipStation) and enable sales order syncing.
Tip: If your WMS does not appear in the catalog even after browsing all 3PLs, contact Luminous Support. New WMS partners appear automatically when they are added to the TrackStar catalog — no Luminous software update is required.
