WordPress vs. WooCommerce

Luminous does not have a generic WordPress integration. However, if your WordPress site uses WooCommerce (the most common WordPress e-commerce plugin), Luminous supports it directly as a sales channel. WooCommerce on WordPress is the integration you're looking for.

Supported Platforms (Channel Types)

Luminous connects to many external platforms through Settings → Integrations → Add Integration. Examples include:

PlatformCommon Use
ShopifyDirect Shopify store orders and inventory sync
WooCommerceWordPress + WooCommerce store orders and inventory sync
AmazonAmazon marketplace orders
Api2CartMulti-storefront connector (supports many cart platforms)

Setting Up a WooCommerce Channel

To connect your WooCommerce store to Luminous:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner, choose Settings, then open Integrations and click Add Integration.
  2. Choose WooCommerce from the list (the Connect WooCommerce page opens).
  3. Enter a name in Name this connection (pre-filled as "WooCommerce").
  4. Click Authorize WooCommerce. A TrackStar window opens over the page so you can sign in to your WooCommerce store; you are then brought back to Luminous. There are no API keys to copy or paste.
  5. Choose the Inventory Quantity Type and click Save.
  6. Then go to Manage → Channels, create a channel, select the appropriate Channel Type (Sales, Fulfillment, or End to End), and configure the capabilities you need (see below), then click Save.

What the WooCommerce Channel Can Do

Once connected, a WooCommerce channel supports the same channel capabilities as other platform channels:

  • Pull Orders — Luminous automatically imports new orders from your WooCommerce store.
  • Push Stock — Luminous pushes real-time inventory levels back to WooCommerce on a schedule (daily or hourly).
  • Push Fulfillment Orders — Send fulfillment orders to a connected warehouse or 3PL.
  • Auto-Create Invoices — Automatically generate invoices in Luminous when orders arrive.
  • Custom Field Mapping — Map WooCommerce order fields to Luminous fields.
  • Order Filters — Control which orders are imported (e.g., by tag or attribute).

What Are Channels?

A Channel in Luminous is a named configuration that connects your account to an external platform. Every channel has one of three types:

  • Sales Channel — Pulls orders from a storefront and pushes tracking/shipping updates back.
  • Fulfillment Channel — Pushes fulfillment orders out to a warehouse or 3PL.
  • End to End Channel — Does both: pulls orders from a source and pushes them to a fulfillment destination.

You can view, create, and manage all channels under Manage → Channels in the main menu. Channels can be enabled or disabled at any time without losing their configuration.
