Default receiving-bin auto-fill in bulk assembly
When you select a SKU in the bulk assembly form, Luminous automatically sets the Warehouse Group, Warehouse, and Location for that row to the SKU's configured default receiving bin.
This matches the same bin that receives the product during purchase-order receiving, so finished assemblies land where the rest of the stock for that SKU already lives — with no manual selection required.
How the cascade works
- You pick a SKU in a row.
- Luminous reads the SKU's default receiving bin and traces it up to its parent warehouse and warehouse group.
- All three location fields are set at once, bypassing the normal top-down cascade (warehouse group → warehouse → first available bin).
- If the SKU has no default receiving bin configured, Luminous falls back to your account's default warehouse group and the first bin in that warehouse.
Overriding the auto-filled location
You can change any of the three fields after auto-fill:
- Warehouse Group — select a different group from the dropdown; the warehouse and location will reset and cascade from your new selection.
- Warehouse — select a different warehouse within the current group; the location will reload for that warehouse.
- Location — type to search and select a different bin. The location field supports live search; typing will filter the list without clearing what you have already typed.
Searching within the location field
The location field in bulk assembly is a searchable autocomplete. You can type part of a bin name and the list narrows in real time. Your typing is preserved — the field no longer resets mid-search when the form refreshes. Select a result from the dropdown to confirm your choice.
Setting a SKU's default receiving bin
To configure or update a SKU's default receiving bin, go to Inventory → SKUs, open the SKU, and set the Default Receiving Bin field. Changes take effect immediately the next time you use bulk assembly.
