Transfer routes let you save defaults for a specific source warehouse and destination warehouse pair, so every new transfer between them starts with the right setup.

This feature is rolling out behind a feature flag. If you don't see these options, it isn't enabled for your workspace yet.

What a route holds

  • Source warehouse and destination warehouse. They must be different warehouses, and both must be active.
  • Source side: worked or automated.
    • Worked means your team ships the transfer. You generate and push the fulfillment order, or pick, pack and label it.
    • Automated means the transfer is marked shipped automatically on the transfer's order date.
  • Destination side: worked or automated.
    • Worked means your team receives the transfer. You use the receiving grid, the mobile app or your WMS inbound.
    • Automated means the transfer is received automatically on its arrival date.
  • An optional fulfillment channel.

Set one up

  1. Go to Settings › Transfer Orders.
  2. Under Transfer Routes, click Add route.
  3. Choose the From and To warehouses, then choose Leaving and Arriving.
  4. Click Save Settings.

A source can’t be set to Automated if its channel pushes orders to a fulfillment partner. The partner ships those transfers, so leave that side as Worked.

Using routes on a transfer

On the new transfer form, choose Ship From and Delivery Destination. If a route exists for that pair, Leaving the source and Arriving at the destination are filled in for you, and you can change them. The older auto-ship and auto-receive checkboxes are under Show advanced options.

Transfer routes can also be managed through the External API.
