Bin location selections on Assembly and Disassembly Orders

What was happening

Two related bugs could cause a line-level bin location selection to be lost:

  1. Async fetch overwriting a manual pick — After you selected a warehouse for a component line, Luminous would look up that warehouse's bins in the background. When that lookup finished, it would overwrite whatever bin you had already picked by hand with a default bin.
  2. Recompose clearing locations — On a Draft Assembly Order, changing the BOM or triggering an Auto Split recompose would silently clear all location selections already made on the existing lines.

Both bugs have been fixed. Location selections now survive both the background bin lookup and Draft recompositions.

What you should see now

  • Pick a bin location on any component line → save → reload: the location is still selected.
  • Change the BOM on a Draft order (which recomposes line items): locations previously assigned to matching component lines are carried forward automatically.
  • A loading spinner appears next to the location field while the type-ahead search is fetching results, so you can tell when results are on the way.

How to verify

  1. Open an Assembly Order or Disassembly Order in Draft status.
  2. On any component line, type in the Location field to search for a bin and select one.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Reload the page — the location should still be shown on that line.

If you had orders saved before this fix where locations appear blank, you will need to re-open the order in Draft and reassign the locations before completing.
