Overview

When you export the Sales Report, Luminous generates the file in the background and delivers it to the email address tied to your account — it is not downloaded directly in the browser. Both the CSV and PDF export formats are always structured at the line-item level, meaning each exported row (CSV) or table row (PDF) represents one individual order line, with the parent order details repeated alongside it.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Sales Report — Open /reports/sales-report on your Luminous URL. This page is no longer linked from the main navigation (the Sales Report under Insights → Reports is a different dashboard).
  2. Set your date range — Use the preset buttons (All Time, YTD, Today, This Week, This Month) or click the calendar icon to pick a custom start and end date. The filter applies to the Order Date on each sales order.
  3. Apply any saved filters (optional) — Click Select Search Filter to layer on a saved template (specific SKUs, category, tags, include-unposted, etc.). Click Reset Apply Filters to clear template filters while keeping the date range.
  4. Choose your export format — In the top-right corner of the page, click either:
    • Export to CSV — produces a spreadsheet attachment with one row per line item.
    • Export to PDF — produces a landscape PDF attachment showing the same line-item detail.
  5. Wait for the confirmation — A brief loading message appears, followed by a success notification confirming the file has been sent. The export runs as a background job, so the page remains usable immediately.
  6. Check your email — You will receive an email with the subject Sales Report Export File and the CSV or PDF attached. The email goes to the address associated with your Luminous login.

What the exported file contains

The CSV includes these columns for every order line item:

ColumnDescription
PO SourceWhether the order originated in Luminous or from a 3rd-party channel
Order #The external order number
DateThe order date
SKUThe product SKU
Product NameThe product name
QuantityUnits sold on that line
PriceUnit price
Line TotalPrice × Quantity for that line
Order TotalTotal value of the whole order (repeated on each line)

The PDF renders the same information in a formatted landscape layout.

About the Line Item View checkbox

The Line Item View checkbox on the Sales Report page changes only the on-screen table display — it does not change the export. The CSV and PDF exports are always line-item level regardless of which view is active on screen.

Tips

  • Narrow your results first. Applying a date range or saved filter before exporting keeps the file manageable and ensures you get only the data you need.
  • Only posted orders are included by default. To include unposted sales, enable that option in a saved filter template before exporting.
  • The file goes to your account email. If you need the export sent to a different address, have the appropriate user run the export from their own login.
